I adore Venice when the tourists are gone. I had a dream a year ago about Venetian Gondoliers riding paper waves upon 2-dimensional boats. I painted the dream shortly after this & titled it "Gondolier Marcello At Your Service!". While having two of our closest friends over from Hawaii & Vancouver I told them the idea & we all came together to make a Vaudeville style installation set for it. My husband & I have a history of making such sets & capturing it all with photographs, mostly just for our amusement, & to make memories with our loved ones. Three Gondoliers, one dame, paper guns & paper cigarettes, what could possibly go wrong?
you guys are too adorable!!! love you so much, and your photoshoots are so creative!
ReplyDeletealso, sadly, there is no such thing as venice without the tourists... :( but i know what you mean!
thanks amy! :o) sigh...& you're so right! but that's what i think every time i am there...
ReplyDeleteYou guys have such fun. I love this. Can we make art installations when I next come to your neck of the woods?
ReplyDelete:o) thanks elizabeth...can you also convince your pesky neighbors to come & we'll make a collective installation?
ReplyDeleteShirin, you simply crack me up! Love the part where you actually admit to this being a hobby. lol! While Elizabeth appears to want to participate, I on the other hand, would simply openly mock everyone. (; (:
ReplyDeleteAs always, I adore the painting. (:
this coming from the queen of taking silly photos with absent strangers' cameras?...simply shocking!
ReplyDeleteooohh.....you're right! (: Sadly, the digital camera age has put an end to that. :(
