Glimmering Waters

I've been in a packing frenzy mostly, but in my free time I've been painting...I fell in love with the exhibit on Babylonian art at the Met last winter, in particular with the ancient pottery, so I put that inspiration into this pattern of black fish with phosphorescent eyes. I once went to Eilat in Israel for vacation, & I saw such fish floating about in the dark waters; truly a stunning sight!

  6. I read your blog and i love love love your work. I showed my dad your paintings a while ago and he was mesmerised. He told me your dad and he went to school together (Dariush Forghani, in case you want to verify that ;)). I saw this painting when you first did the post and thought it was the most brilliant thing in the world, especially seeing as though there was an Israel reference, which i could relate to. Sabrina just told us that this is to be our wedding gift. I can't help but feel a tad emotional. It is positively stunning, and i cannot wait to see it in real life. Many many many thanks, Nazy xo

  8. it's beautiful! it's in my living room until the bride and groom come to fetch it themselves (or, um, until they move to DC and i gingerly place it back in its box and deliver it). sigh. i can't tell you how much JOY it brings to see it and how selfishly i'm enjoying it right now. it's SO MUCH MORE STUNNING in person. truth be told.

    besos hermosa,
    s.
