Rajasthani Blues

In the state of Rajasthan there is a city by the name of Jodhpur, where parts of the city are painted blue. I find the rich shades of indigos & azure they paint their walls with utterly enchanting. One can almost get lost in them...This painting is 30" x 40" in size.

  1. Absolutely smitten with this one! And I love the new header and the exploits of your escape-artist Maharani!

  2. Another gorgeous painting. I just love these shades of blue too.

And LOVE your new banner. You are the only person I've come across with these animated banners. Really wonderful!

  3. Seriously, Shirin, I don't think you realize the sheer joy I experience whenever you post a new painting.

The skyline is divine! The blue is lovely! The little green boat is super sweet! And those two characters! Well, I want to befriend them. What do you think they are chatting about? I hope it has nothing to do with reality tv.

    Remarkable work.

I swear, one day I will stalk you in China (and in the most non-creepy way, I promise!)

  4. Thank you all! This one was great fun to paint. There is something calming about painting in all blues...:o)

  5. I LOVE these blues...WOW! And your new header is darling!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend:) xo

  6. hey Shirin! i found your work through 'an indian summer' blog and have been in love with it since then.
This painting in particular is so stunning and actually takes me back to jodhpur where i recently went for my birthday...
where can i mail you to find out how one can go about acquiring some of your gorgeous gorgeous work and how much does something like this cost? just maybe, i could actually look at this everyday :) thanks a ton and a very happy new year to you and yours, smriti
