This is my attempt to capture the profound love a mama has for her little one with it's limitless, pure & radiant joy. I've been more & more trying to encapsulate a mood or feeling with my use of colour, as I feel more inclined to paint from a place of spiritual emotion now that I am a parent myself. I created a very reflective gold leaf-like pattern in the ground inspired again by the mobiles & stabiles of the artist Alexander Calder. This painting is 31.5" in diameter & is available for sale SOLD.

Pomegranate Flowers
My mama's name was Golnar; it literally translates into "fire flower" in Persian, otherwise known as a pomegranate flower. That beautiful fruit filled with sweet rubies has always reminded me of her every since I can remember, & when she passed away I always took it as a good omen of wonderful things to come when I would come across them. You can imagine my surprise when I realized that the floors of my new home in Barcelona were tiled with pomegranates & flowers when I first moved in. This painting was inspired by her creative & optimistic spirit of adventure. I hope that you too will always see those sweet blossoms throughout your own life...This painting is available FOR SALE, all inquiries are welcome at shirinsahba @gmail.com.

All The Wonder
There is nothing like a child marveling at the magic of something so simple, so ethereal & beautiful. The really rare & precious thing is to find adults who retain this sense of wonderment until older age despite all the dark days they might experience in life...I have been looking to the colour field painters such as Mark Rothko & Leon Berkowitz a great deal lately for a certain softness in capturing moods...This painting is available for sale SOLD.

Above The Luminous
I admit, I never thought that the beloved King of Thailand would pass away the day that I would release a painting depicting his royal barge. Thailand is a special land for me, one where I traveled to while still in utero with my mama. Years later I would take my own baby in utero to travel it's gorgeous waters & land. There are only a few secret spots in the world where the coral is still bright & glowing, where humans have not yet fully desecrated nature's diverse & majestic beauty...My biggest fear is that my own child will grow up to see their full extinction...

Always with Papa
This is the day & age to celebrate the men in our lives who have decided to go against the grain of society & be ever-present in the lives of their families, often sacrificing everything for quality time...These are the men that will redefine true masculinity & will help raise the children of the future in a beautiful world wherein the equality of men & women will no longer just be a dream, but will become a reality. Inspired by the vivid & surreal colours of North Africa...This painting is 31.5" in diameter & is available FOR SALE. All inquiries welcome at shirinsahba @gmail.com.

A Cactus Kind of Love
It's a unique kind of love that appreciates cacti more than the standard bouquet of roses...
After my summer spent in the cactus gardens of Barcelona as well the surreal desert of Arizona, I felt I needed to explore my love of succulents & cacti further...In Arizona I especially fell under the spell of the Opuntia macrocentra, a particularly gorgeous specimen of prickly pear cactus that happens to be lavender in colour! This painting is on a circular stretcher canvas that is 31.5" in diameter, & is available

Her Earthly Elegance
Maybe you know this woman. There is a lightness to the elegance of her strength. There is nobility in the artistry of her walk. Alone, strong & vulnerable, the odds stacked against her, adorned in her otherness as she bravely ventures into the unknown...
The playful pattern on the ground of this painting is inspired directly from one of my favorite sculptures of all time, Alexander Calder. Specifically his mobiles & stabiles have enchanted me since childhood.
This painting is 31.5" in diameter & is available FOR SALE. All inquiries are more than welcome at shirinsahba @gmail.com.

Mama Draws...
Another anniversary of your passing into the next world has come & gone mama...When I see my little boy's love of drawing (a marker is the first thing he requests when he opens his eyes), I am reminded of your love of it & all the magic you would create in this earthly life...I like to think you are still drawing all that you see...& what magnificent & illuminated drawings they must be! I cannot possibly imagine mama...

Escaping The Souk
Whizzing past the kaleidoscope of colours & patterns that compose the Medina of Marrakech, these two are off on an adventure!
Inspired by my very recent travel through Morocco; I have always found the intense beauty of North Africa to be deepy moving...I made sure to include all the details I especially loved about the souk, down to each patterned djellaba (pointy hooded robes) & beautiful babouches (pointed leather slippers).
This painting is a 30" x 30" canvas stretcher & is available FOR SALE. All inquiries are welcome at shirinsahba @gmail.com!

In My Solitude
A single & elegant cypress tree stands alone in a sunny landscape. The golden hues of yellow in the ground are interlaced with delicate & detailed foliage. The sky are cool aquamarines melting into warmer tones in an attempt to catch the beautiful & mystical Mediterranean sunlight. I have recently made a big move to Barcelona, Spain. This painting is a reflection on returning to the Mediterranean to begin a new life...
This painting
is 31.4" x 31.4" (80 x 80 cm) on a handmade canvas
stretcher & is SOLD.
