Northern Lights

This is my first painting bound for the Arctic, specifically to Yellowknife. It is a portrait of an inspiring family who currently resides there...I've always been drawn to this part of the world, as my husband comes from Alaska. Ever since we were 16 years old, he would tell me about the incredible Northern Lights...Majestic, mystical & incredibly ethereal. My father went to Nunavut to meet with elders there not long ago, & he also came back with tales of nights that were like day, & traditional lifestyles that are unchanged for generations. Under these incredible stars, one can't help but to feel humble & to feel one with the universe...(This painting measures at 30" x 30" & is Sold.)

Missing Mama

Thinking of my mama these past few days as the anniversary of her passing was yesterday, & because, well, you never really forget your mama, even during the mundane routines. It was just like her to leave on a beautiful Spring day like this. It seems like the good ones always go too young. This is a small reminder to cherish your mama, be kind to her even through trying times & let her know how eternally precious she is to you...Thank you mama for continuing to sprinkle your pixie dust on us from other realms! Here is a photo of us two traveling in India.

It Started in Naples

A Little Fox Ponders Life

Inspired by the intricate inlay work of India & Morocco. Each leaf & flower in the ground resembles a detailed, semi-precious work of inlay, & possesses a reflective, pearly glow when it catches the light. In contrast, the sky is luminous & gem-like with it's deep shade of turquoise which melts into a cyan-blue. The little fox in the ground is looking at a delicate green-leafed tree, & perched on top of the tree, safely & out of reach, is an exotic lime green bird with black wings peering back at the fox in curiosity.

Devil's In the Details

I've been busy as a bee in the studio! I had an interview with a design magazine this past week along with another photo shoot of the home (of course I will share once it comes out!)...A few visual inspirations while you await new work: 1. Can't wait to order this book by the talented Maryam of Marrakesh. 2. Just watched Pink Panther with Peter Sellers for the millionth time, how much do I adore Princess Dala? 3. This is where I wish to be right now, but alas, it will have to wait!
