This is a painting I've been wanting to paint for a long time; the kind of imagery that lingers in my dreams. A multitude of wild horses sweep through a meadow, accompanied by a few elegant warrior equestrians in all their elegant royal attire. Each horse is unique & with it's own personality, based on various Mughal Empire paintings I've studied over the years. I've always been riveted by miniatures of horsemen galloping, trotting & tumbling through fields, battles & elaborate royal processions. This painting measures 30" x 30" & available for sale SOLD.

Gelato with Mama!
Ice-cream tastes even better when the company you keep is so sweet on this hot African day. The pattern in the ground is inspired by the intricate beadwork at the Masai Market in Nairobi, Kenya, with all of its sunny yellows, oranges, reds & blues. The sky melts into gelato shades of lemon & peach.

Cherry Blossom China
My years spent in Beijing have unveiled little glimmerings of an old China; one in which grandeur & miniature details were given equal attention. Inspired by traditional Chinese inlaid lacquer art & old imperial painted scrolls. The ground consists of blossoms in a mother-of-pearl-like

Mama, we miss you.
You know how you can smell your mamas hair when you hug her? Or how you'll do any silly impression; even fake tap dance like Fred Astaire to make her laugh? I remember. Motherhood has arrived for me, but where oh where is my mama? How many times I've wanted to call her & ask her questions. How many times I've imagined her snuggling my baby & telling me to treasure these fleeting days. & I do. Because I know she would. Happy Birthday mama!
*This is a photo my papa took of her in Kashmir, India, on a boat filled with flowers. I still imagine her drifting on this fragrant boat sometimes.
